Pay overseas suppliers with stablecoins from Canada

Settle invoices abroad in hours, not days — funded in CAD, delivered in USDC/USDT or local currency.

01At a glance

Fund in CAD by Interac e-Transfer or wire; pay suppliers, contractors and subsidiaries in USDC, USDT or EURC the same business day for requests before 12:00 PT. All-in under 1% plus a network fee of about $1. Local currency to a bank account in the US, UK, Europe, Brazil, Mexico and Colombia. Minimum $5,000 CAD per payment; per-batch limit set at onboarding, $1M+ CAD available. Every payee sanctions-screened.

02Worked example: CAD → USDC → supplier

A Vancouver importer owes a Ho Chi Minh City supplier $50,000 CAD on Friday morning. It funds by wire at 9:30 PT; TokenNest quotes 36,180 USDC at a firm rate including the spread — about $400 CAD all-in versus $1,500–$2,500 CAD for a bank wire. The batch is approved at 10:05; the supplier's wallet shows the USDC at 10:11 and its bank shows VND that afternoon after a local conversion. The importer's statement shows one line: $50,000 CAD out, payee, invoice reference, transaction hash.

03Supplier payments, payroll & marketplace payouts

Suppliers — one-off or recurring invoices, any payee count per batch. Contractors and remote staff — monthly payroll runs to wallets or local bank accounts, each payee with a fixed reference. Subsidiaries — intercompany funding without a correspondent-bank chain. Marketplace and platform payouts — API-driven payouts to sellers or creators abroad, with your branding on the payment notice. The same payee list, screening and statement serve all four.

04Cost vs wire (table)

Bank wire on $50,000 CAD: $30–$80 CAD outgoing fee, 2–3% FX margin ($1,000–$1,500 CAD), $15–$50 USD per intermediary, $10–$30 USD receiving fee, plus the beneficiary bank's own conversion — $1,500–$2,500 CAD total, arriving in 2–5 business days. TokenNest: one spread under 1% on a stated mid plus ~$1 network fee — about $400 CAD — arriving the same day. The full Fees page has every line item.

05Compliance & screening of counterparties

Every payee is screened at creation and on every payment against Canadian sanctions lists, the Criminal Code terrorist-entity list and OFAC/UN lists; wallet addresses are checked against blockchain-analytics risk data before funds move. Payments to jurisdictions under comprehensive Canadian sanctions are refused. You confirm the commercial purpose of each payee once; we keep the record for five years as FINTRAC requires. Nothing is reported to the CRA by us — your statement gives your accountant the CAD value, date and reference for each payment.

Frequently asked questions
Can I pay a supplier who has no crypto wallet?Yes, in partner corridors — the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Brazil, Mexico and Colombia — local currency settles to the supplier's bank account. Elsewhere the supplier needs a wallet; setup takes about five minutes, and most exporters in Asia, Africa and Latin America already accept USDT or USDC.
How does the payment appear in my books? As a foreign payable settled in CAD: your statement shows the CAD amount on the payment date, the payee, your invoice reference and the transaction hash as the payment reference. Statements export to CSV, QuickBooks and Xero; nothing is reported to the CRA by TokenNest.
