Risk Disclosure

Digital assets are volatile; understand the risks before you trade.

1. Price and market risk

Virtual currencies are volatile. Bitcoin has moved more than 10% in a single day many times and more than 50% within a year; smaller assets move further. A price quoted by TokenNest is firm only for its validity window. Stablecoins are designed to track a currency but are not guaranteed — issuers have briefly traded below their peg in stress events. You may lose some or all of the value of what you buy, and no return is promised or implied.

2. Custody and irreversibility

TokenNest is non-custodial: what you buy is delivered to a wallet you control. Blockchain transfers are final. If you provide a wrong address, choose the wrong network, lose your recovery phrase or have your device compromised, the assets cannot be recovered by TokenNest, the wallet provider or anyone else. You are responsible for the security of your wallet and keys.

3. Regulatory and legal risk

Canadian and foreign rules on virtual currency change. New requirements may restrict which assets we can offer, which jurisdictions we can pay, or how quickly transactions settle. TokenNest is a registered money services business; it is not a bank, an investment dealer or an adviser. Deposits with TokenNest are not insured by CDIC or any deposit-insurance scheme, and virtual currency is not protected by any investor-protection fund.

4. Operational and counterparty risk

Networks congest, banks delay, and third parties — stablecoin issuers, payout partners, liquidity venues — may fail or change terms. Settlement times on this site are targets. Client fiat is held in segregated accounts at Canadian banks and is not used for company operations, but a bank or partner failure could delay access to funds. We publish incidents on the Status page.

5. Fraud and scams

The most common loss our clients face is not market risk but fraud: an "investment" that asks you to buy crypto here and send it to a wallet you were given. We will refuse transactions that match known patterns, but we cannot protect you from a transfer you insist on. No legitimate investment asks you to buy crypto elsewhere and send it to them. If in doubt, stop and email [email protected] before sending.
